Reasons to Learn ASL: Learn a Unique Language!
American Sign Language is a unique way of expression, and a language not quite like any other. Being the primary signed language in the US, learning ASL is the fastest and smartest way to learn a nonspoken language: which is a completely different experience than learning a spoken language! Maybe you need a foreign language credit for school, why not learn one that you could use daily right in your own town? Using visuals and gestures to explain ideas and thoughts can be a fantastic outlet, and at the same time you’re learning a new way to communicate with other signers, and the Deaf community!
