Goals/reason for learning ASL: Group of teachers looking to learn real ASL to use in classrooms as part of instruction to reinforce learning of concept words. Using signs is part of GLAD strategies for teaching English to students new to the language. Currently, teachers have been either making their own signs and symbols for words or having the kids create them. We would like to align our school practice with legitimate sign language across the school.
